GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE
The Loan Officer's role involves originating mortgage loans while fully adhering to CFCU's Loan Policy and ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and agency requirements for 1-4 Family residential mortgage lending. This role also involves providing support and coordination across various departments to uphold the credit union's core values of Innovation, Joy, Collaboration, Integrity, and People First.Note:

Establish and maintain relationships with potential and existing members and their realtors when applicable, to develop and retain existing business. Guide members/borrowers and acts as a mortgage loan advisor in order to determine the best loan product to accomplish the desired outcome for the particular situation in accordance with CFCU's Loan Policy. Obtain necessary member/borrower information to accurately complete a loan application and maintains strict confidentiality with the information received. Comply with and assists in delivery of all disclosures applicable to residential mortgage lending rules, regulations and guidelines to the member/borrower within the timeframes required by regulation or law. Collect and retains required documentation and information necessary for processing and approval of the mortgage loan request. Maintain appropriate communication with member/borrower throughout the loan application process to assure loan timely approval and closing. Attend necessary training required to maintain and assure a high level of knowledge in the mortgage loan industry and to maintain any necessary certifications. Perform all duties with the utmost integrity, honesty, confidentiality and superior level of respect for the member/borrower. Cross sell other CFCU products. Act as mentor to less experienced Mortgage Loan Officers. Perform additional duties related to the position as needed.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of banking processes plus a basic knowledge of lending practices required. Must be proficient with computers, with basic to intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Knowledge of and compliance with all necessary regulations including, but not limited to, BSA, CIP, US Patriot Act, Fact Act, etc.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED NMLS
license preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. 2-3 years consumer loan origination, processing, or underwriting required. Experience with Meridianlink Consumer, Jack Henry Symitar, IDS, FirstClose preferred.SKILLS AND ABILITIES
