We would like you to join our dynamic Engineering Laboratory team!Shift Hours:
8 am-4:30pmPay:
$22.00/hrPosition Overview:
As an intern, you'll immerse yourself in hands-on material property testing and coatings evaluations, gaining invaluable experience while supporting our lab's critical operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct material property testing on polymers (tensile, izod, melt flow, flammability, etc.)
- Prepare and process samples for testing (notching, dimensioning, punch press)
- Evaluate coatings for corrosion, abrasion, and adhesion
- Assist with plumbing product flow testing and grease interceptor evaluations
- Schedule and perform tests to meet laboratory and client needs
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient testing schedules
- Maintain equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure accurate documentation
- Meet corporate QA/QC standards and contribute to other lab duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in Engineering, Polymers, or Materials
- High School Diploma/GED or pursuing an Engineering Degree
- Familiarity with polymeric materials and basic lab equipment
- Proficiency in PC/Windows software (Word, Excel)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of lab QA/QC procedures
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Plastics Technology, or related field
- Experience with LIMS, measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometer), and
ASTM/ISO
standards- Proficiency with Izod Tester, Instron Load Frame, Blue Hill Universal Software
- Background in coatings evaluations and laboratory notebook upkeep
