Due to our continued growth, we are seeking to add an Accounts Payable Clerk to our Corporate Accounting Team. The ideal person will have one or more years working in accounting and performing accounts payable duties and other duties in support of accounting.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment Process check requests Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks Distribute signed checks as required Maintain files, spreadsheets and other records and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting principles Respond to vendor inquiries as needed Assist in monthly closings Assist corporate finance staff and personnel at the properties as needed Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma: some college preferred 1+ years' experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software. 1+ years' experience working in accounting systems preferably Yardi or One site. Able to follow standard filing procedures Strong math skills with ability to perform computations such as percentages and fractions Self-starter with strong work ethic Strong problem-solving skills Well organized and detail oriented Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Fluency in English; reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus. Willingness to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position: Sit up to 75% of the workday. Stand and/or walk periodically throughout the workday. Occasionally push or pull up to 35 pounds unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally kneel, bend, and reach. Must have good manual dexterity for typing and operation of machinery including computers. Requires continuous mental and visual attention to diversified operations
