Recruiter contact information: Should you have any questions related to this recruitment process, please contact Sandra Fata at ParksHRtucsonaz.gov Position Specific Summary The Parks Equipment Operator Specialist position at the City of Tucson's Parks and Recreation Department operates heavy machinery and supports the operations of various trades and construction tasks beingpleted by the department. Work is performed under the supervision of the Parks Maintenance Coordinator. This position does not supervise. Duties and Responsibilities Operates small, medium and large pieces of equipment including water trucks, skid steerer, small cement trucks, mowers, rollers, gannon tractor, sweeper, loader, patchers, forklift and other small pieces of equipment. Transports large equipment including vessels containing liquid. Supports department or division specific projects within a park or to transport equipment in support of a project. Demonstrates an ability to follow direction andplete tasks assigned. Participates in assigned crew work bypleting repairs and renovations. Participates in special events, emergency response and advance coordinated equipment movement. Maintainsmunication and keeps in contact with supervisors in order to update on incidents and maintain a safe work environment. Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned machinery and equipment, ensuring cleanliness of interior and exterior of assigned vehicles. Monitors tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls continuously to ensure machinery maintains operational readiness. Identifies and reports machinery performance issues or malfunctions andpletes vehicle discrepancy reports for repairs by fleet services staff. Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned. Working Conditions Work schedule may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Often works under the following conditions: exposure to extreme physical, ergonomic, or hazardous environment, which includes but not limited to dirt, grime, chemical, loud noise, unfavorable odors, and adverse weather conditions. All duties and responsibilities listed are subject to change.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school diploma or equivalent Experience Two (2) years of directly related experience Equivalency Anybination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. License/Certifications Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
