Job Description

Mechanical/Electrical Assembler - Manufacturing The Employment Firm Aurora, CO 80019 We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical/Electrical Assembler to support the production of advanced aerospace and defense-related systems. This role involves both mechanical and electrical assembly, requiring a strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, structural assembly, and light welding work. The ideal candidate is hands-on, quality-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and systems according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Perform light welding tasks (MIG, TIG, or spot welding) on structural components and enclosures as required. Route and connect wiring and cables in enclosures, panels, and harnesses using proper techniques and tools. Install electrical hardware such as switches, relays, terminals, and circuit protection devices. Use hand tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, and test equipment to ensure proper assembly and function. Conduct continuity checks and basic electrical functional testing. Perform fit checks, mechanical alignments, and system integrations. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), assembly instructions, and quality standards (AS9100, IPC). Complete work documentation accurately, including travelers, inspection records, and issue logs. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical or design issues. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment according to safety and 5S practices.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Experience performing basic welding operations (MIG, TIG, or spot welding). Proficient in the use of hand tools and basic electrical testing instruments. Strong attention to detail and quality with the ability to follow work instructions precisely. U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent) is a plus. Experience with electro-mechanical systems in regulated or defense-oriented environments. Familiarity with MIL-STD mechanical and electrical assembly practices. Experience with ERP systems for work tracking and documentation. Background in ISO 9001 or AS9100-certified production environments.
