This person will be responsible for assisting our property accountants and ensuring the companies daily accounting functions are completed.
Job Duties:
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information. Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. Reconcile general ledger accounts as requested in a timely manner. Maintain accurate vendor records. Prepare bank deposits and ensure proper accounts receivable posting in accounting software. Process invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements, and obtaining payment authorization. Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions. Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments. Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls. Secure financial information by completing database backups. Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents. Perform other duties as assigned. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing department goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field. Proficiency in accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger (G/L) transactions. Basic proficiency with accounting software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to process large amounts of data for multiple properties. Administrative writing and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar role, preferably in real estate or property management. Experience with Yardi accounting software.
