Branding and Design Lead 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars Cambridge, MA 02138 • Hybrid work Job Overview We're hiring a designer to support our rapidly growing marketing efforts at Harvard Online; designing and executing concepts for web, print, and video to bring to life memorable content for marketing campaigns and promotional materials to increase awareness and enrollment in our online courses. This is a temporary full time(35 hours a week), 6-month position . It is a hybrid role that would be on site at our Harvard Square office 1-2 days a week. Duties Produce graphics based on established Harvard Online style guidelines for brand, video, and web content. Support the Visual Design Lead and Director of Marketing in developing concepts for use in marketing materials, presentations, and VPAL initiatives Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout the design process, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all deliverables. Coordinate relationships with vendors; preparing specifications and obtaining estimates for final approval Consult closely with web developers to communicate design specs and collaborate on UI patterns. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in graphic design and online learning, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the team. Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and design critiques, offering constructive feedback and contributing to a positive work environment. Requirements 5 + years of experience in graphic design Fluency with design software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma. Proven experience in UI/UX design and understanding of basic web management systems like Wordpress. Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor Prior successful work experience in educational media, education publishing, academic technology or teaching and learning support a plus Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality work across various media, with a focus on web design, branding, and outstanding typographic ability. Motion graphics skills are a plus. Additional Qualifications Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas visually and verbally. Passion for education and a desire to contribute to the development of high-quality online learning experiences. Curiosity and eagerness to learn, with a proactive attitude towards professional growth and skill development.
