Job Summary:
The Metal Process Specialist will oversee the setup and maintenance of process controls for metal stamping presses and weld equipment, ensuring alignment with customer specifications. This role is crucial for minimizing downtime and maintaining equipment functionality, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective problem-solving to support production and quality objectives.
Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain process controls for metal stamping presses and weld equipment. Monitor and troubleshoot operations to ensure minimal downtime. Oversee the implementation of new processes and troubleshoot existing ones. Complete production reports and ensure accurate lot-control. Follow work instructions meticulously to ensure adherence to proper procedures. Inspect parts for tolerances, surface defects, and dimensions, making adjustments as needed. Promote and adhere to safety policies and procedures. Review and update run documents, including release records, visual aids, packaging standards, and process sheets. Assist the supervisor with production-related issues and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in metal stamping operations. Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques. Knowledge of
TS 16949
requirements. Professional demeanor with strong leadership and motivational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of managing priorities and responding effectively in critical situations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Basic computer and mathematical skills for press operations. Ability to use measuring tools, gauges, and fixtures accurately. Capability to operate a forklift in confined spaces. Safety and environmental training experience. Flexibility to work afternoons or night shifts. Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to provide excellent internal customer service and handle multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:
