SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Lending Specialist will primarily be responsible for gathering personal financial data and business ownership goals from clients in order to consult the client as to which business funding options may be suitable and available for them.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and implements FranFund's vision, mission, and values into everyday work life and is able to articulate and teach them to others Problem solves and controls crisis and conflict regarding a lending situation in a prompt and effective manner Participates in the training of new Lending Specialists, as appropriate Educates clients and other parties regarding SBA and bank policies, as well as industry updates as required Assesses prequalification (FranScore), financial condition and risk of commercial loan requests through detailed lending client consultations and credit analysis Conducts a lending consultation with prospective candidates to determine loan eligibility and communicates outcome to funding consultants and referral sources (both broker and franchisor as required) Maintains strong rapport with brokers, franchisors, and all other referral sources Delivers news of loan denials, unqualified client status and other unfavorable news to all parties involved that need updates, making sure to be sensitive and tactful based on situation and audience Works with Lending Operations department as required Maintains superior level of customer service Handles any refund requests for clients pre-approved and engaged based on your prequalification assessment

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma Expert knowledge of Bank, SBA and industry lending policies, procedures and criteria PC proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong ability to take initiative and be decisive under stressful conditions Strong ability to work independently and well with team Expert in crisis control and problem-solving Strong knowledge of key, related roles in lending services Expert in FranFund's loan programs and structuring funding short and long-term funding strategies for clients
